Mindfulness Retreat
Iceland 2026 with Axel Rieber
Tour guide and sensing (sensingyoga.se) by Petra Mazetti
Arrival: June 7, 2026
Departure: June 13 (in the evening or the following day)
You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf... You can't stop the wind, but you can fly a kite... You can't stop the rain, but you can sit like a mountain... You can't stop the thoughts, but you can let them move on like the clouds in the sky.
In the wild, untamed nature of Iceland, we want to practise mindfulness and serenity, experience the pure power of the elements with all our senses and come into contact with our own energy, our own sources of power and our connection with nature and the elements of earth, water, fire and air.
As a compact course in mindfulness, based on the content of MBSR according to Jon Kabat-Zinn, the course is just as suitable for beginners as it is as a refresher for former participants of an MBSR course.
Guided meditations will take place daily, alternating with physical exercises, yoga elements, theory units on the development of stress, the effects of stress and strategies for stress reduction. Elements of nature-based mindfulness, such as shinrin yoku (forest bathing), will be integrated, but there will also be plenty of time for sharing and alone time.
We will be partly in the practice room, but we will also spend a lot of time in nature as part of joint excursions and mindful walks or hikes to special places of power in Iceland. We will consciously avoid places that are heavily frequented by tourists and head for quieter "insider tips".
Prerequisite: Willingness to get involved in the program and the group and to go out into nature in all weathers.
Weatherproof clothing is therefore essential. In Iceland, Icelandic wool clothing is always ideal.
A day-by-day program will be added to the site, but feel free to contact us if you are interested!
